MARATHON DE LAUSANNE 2024 CHECKLIST

Food: The week before I tried to lower my calory intake by not eating in the morning, so that my body could "carb-up" the day before. The day before I mainly ate oatmeal and pasta.

Day of the race: I ate about 2.5h before the race started. It was a nice boal of oatmeal with milk.

Nutrition during race: I profited form the power gels from Powerbar. They were freely available at stations during the race. I had a plan for when to take them which made me feel safe but in the end I drank a lot of them throughout the race due to energy being low after 26km.

Toilets: No toilets at marathons. I stopped once after a couple km to go piss. After 26-30km I finally found a construction-toilet to let all of my disgusting diarrhea out. Round 2 came after the race.

Food after race: I didn't eat straight after. I waited until my body said your good to go. While waiting I drank some hot water. For the next day and more after I felt dehydrated.

Muscles: I expected my calves and Achilles to die during the race but the opposite came true. Before the race they were hurting on every run, due to me switching to running on my forefeet. Today a couple days after the race and also yesterday, they felt relaxed. Weird.

Knees: On the other hand my knees are fucked up. It's hard to walk up/down stares.

Other body parts: I have some tensions on different parts of my body like my foot but nothing extreme yet (knock on wood). My toes got hurt and assimilated blood in a kind of like bladder under and in front of my nail. My mom just took scissors and emptied it. The whole color changed from blue to normal. I didn't lose a toenail yet, I'll keep you updated. It doesn't feel stable.

My toe after my mother emptied the blood-bladder.
