Running your imperfect life code

Story

There once was a man who wanted to go somewhere -- anywhere -- so he started running. He believed that movement alone would bring him progress. He ran east for a while, then west, then north, always changing directions on a whim. Sometimes he'd sprint after a new idea, sometimes he'd jog back because he felt uncertain. He told himself he was making progress because his legs were moving and sweat was pouring.

Years passed, and one day he stopped and looked around. To his surprise, he realized he was standing almost exactly where he had started.

Only when he paused, reflected, and chose a clear direction did he finally begin to make real progress.

We live in the Information Technology age. Information everywhere, anytime at any speed.

But have you ever considered that more info will not nesseraly lead to desired output?

To me every person is like a computer program. And the knowledge one has is like the code. In coding once you want to check if the program is able to function properly you run it. In life many people never run their own life code. They listen take in, take in, take in, tell others to take in but they never get to take a big fat break, do not care about the consequences, improvise, go for something, go again, go again, adjust, go again and go again.

Experiment:

Turn off all of your information sources for a certain period of time during the day: Quit instagram, youtube, google, my blog and everything except real-life social interactions, productive stuff and nothing (staring at a wall waiting for your brain to adjust to lower stimulation). What is productive stuff? If you look back on today what are you going to be proud that you did? If you are in mental pain it means it is working.

Stay hard
