MENTAL INTENSITY ZONES

Today I did an interval with my friend Elias. I had all these thoughts in my head. All this conflict. I am constantly trying to do these big things but I am never able to execute. Why is that? I make them out to be these big things but big things are small things stacked on top of each other. I am suffering. But there is something in this struggle that teaches me to shift my energy to the small things.

While running I had this hard epiphany: As long I make something out to me something that it is not it's going to be impossible for me to attain it. I have to relax mentally while doing these things so that my energy doesn't run out right after I started. In order for me to endure my mental intensity can only be so high.

I stole this concept from the heart rate zone trainers and David Goggins book Never Finished.

In running if you want to get fit some advice is to do a lot of training at lower zones like zone 2 to zone 3 out of 5 and fewer training at a high intensity like zone 4 to zone 5. That way the resting heart rate should go down by a lot if it is executed properly. Variety of training is king.

The neurotic mind might want one simple executable program to do but life's more complicated and broader than that. Life is also a marathon and not a sprint and this is why I'm going to let you with this: Where do you learn to relax your mind?
