BAREFOOT RUNNING 1

Yesterday I went on a run. I had listened to Born to Run from Christopher McDougall. He described how in study of the GP of Bern higher shoe prices had one of the strongest correlation with injury in the previous year, or maybe I was hearing what I wanted to hear or maybe the author of born to run was hearing what he wanted to hear. But the conclusion was that I felt inspired, and so I went out with my poncho some pants and not much around my foot. It actually felt ok. I think I did around 11kilometers maybe in 1h30 or a bit more. Towards the end I started feeling something under my foot. I paid some attention to it until I said it is what it is whether I focus on it or not it will be fucked up afterward. No reason to fuck up my run too right!?

And that's exactly what happened I had a great run I felt my feet tingling afterward like I had not in a long time. Mmmmmh what a great feeling. Next I went to bed and watched a movie with my dad.

The next day I called my mom, who should have been a surgeon, who came in with her scissors and cut all the skin that was filled with blood open and pressed it all out. The disinfectant hurt like hell. But thanks mom I find it impossible to get over cutting parts of my own skin. Ewwwwwwww.

I think it might help me to run with form that is more natural and will make me less prone to injury.

I just ordered some thin sandals. Let's see if I get blisters with these.

What a freeing experience to run without shoes.
