About Negotiation

hello Always be ready to leave when negotiating. If you are not ready to leave the other side has the possibility to fuck you over. You should always be ready to walk away anytime. If you change this then we need to renegotiate the whole thing.

Don't talk to much. Make an offer and give the other person time and space to come back to you. When you are pushy, the other person will most likely automatically flee.

Add an element of scarcity. I really want to make a deal with you but if you don't act now it might be gone in 20 minutes.

Try to find a fair solution. Any sustainable relationship is based on fair deals for both sides. If you don't want a sustainable relationship then be irrational but if you want it then try to find out what the costs are for both sides, what the optionalities are for both sides and most importantly what the interest of the other side is and try to find a solution and if you don't know a solution ask the question: if you want that, how will we integrate this into the deal in a way that it doesn't destroy my side of things?

About Startups

In some startups the whole thing is based on intrinsic motivation so you should give people a lot of freedom while still checking in with them from time to time.
